Players have a chance this Friday to win an estimated $510 million Mega Millions® jackpot with a cash lump sum-option of $377.4 million, as well as an estimated $4.1 million jackpot with a cash lump sum option of $3.69 million from the Connecticut-only game, Lotto! On Saturday, the Powerball® drawing will be for an estimated at $470 million jackpot, with a cash lump sum option of $362.7 million.
At $980 million, this is the highest combined-jackpot total for Mega Millions and Powerball since October 2018, when the Mega Millions jackpot reached its all-time record of $1.537 billion. It's also the third time that both games have simultaneously had jackpots larger than $400 million.
The last time Mega Millions jackpot was hit was September 15, 2020, in Wisconsin. The overall odds of winning a Mega Millions prize are 1 in 24.0. Odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1 in 302.5 million.
The Powerball jackpot was last hit in New York in the September 16, 2020, drawing. Overall odds of Powerball or Powerball with Power Play are 1 in 24.9. Odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1 in 292.2.
