CLC Announces Change to Fanatics Sportsbook and Ending of PlaySugarHouse PlatformWallingford, CT – December 5, 2023 - The Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC) recently announced its new partnership with Fanatics Betting & Gaming (Fanatics) and the launch of its online and retail sportsbook in the coming weeks. We are optimistic that our customer base will continue betting with us on the Fanatics Sportsbook by setting up new accounts online and continuing to place wagers at our retail sportsbook locations. CLC will continue to offer sports wagering using the Fanatics Sportsbook at Arooga’s Grille House & Sports Bar in Shelton, the XL Center in Hartford, and at all locations operated by our Connecticut-based partner, Sportech PLC, including the Bobby V’s Restaurant & Sports Bar locations in Stamford and Windsor Locks; Sports Haven in New Haven; and the Winners locations in Hartford, Manchester, Waterbury, New Britain and Milford. The Fanatics Sportsbook online launch date will be announced in the coming days, along with launch dates for each retail sportsbook location.

This also means the end of the PlaySugarHouse Sportsbook in CT.  The following information will guide players with existing wagers in retail and online how to proceed, as well as how to close their online accounts.

Existing Wagers in Retail and Online. All existing wagers placed via online accounts or at retail for events occurring prior to February 12, 2024 will remain valid, and be settled in the normal fashion once the event is completed.

All existing wagers for future events occurring February 12 or later will be voided and the funds returned to players. Players can re-wager those refunds on the same sporting event on the new sportsbook if they choose to, or simply receive the cash refund. Online voided wagers will require no action by account holder to get refunded. Retail players must bring their wager receipt to any retail location to get their refund. Additionally, retail players in possession of vouchers issued from the PlaySugarHouse sportsbook must also cash those out soon to get refunds, as the new Fanatics Sportsbook will not accept them.

Closing PlaySugarHouse Online Player Accounts. Players with online accounts will see information on the PlaySugarHouse website and mobile app about the final settlement of wagers and closing of accounts. Players can withdraw their funds whenever they choose, and can close their accounts after their final wager has settled. Players with a wager for a sporting event occurring as late as February 11, 2024 must keep their account open in order to receive payment for a winning wager. All player accounts will be closed prior to the end of February, 2024. Players who take no action to close their online accounts will have the account balance refunded to their bank account on record. While wagering will no longer be allowed on the PlaySugarHouse retail or online sportsbook after the changeover to Fanatics Sportsbook, the PlaySugarHouse system will still be present for customers wishing to collect their winning or voided wagers and to process vouchers.

Players who need assistance can submit questions online, or talk with staff members in retail locations to ensure they understand next steps to take. Players with questions about PlaySugarHouse retail wagering are encouraged to ask retail staff. Players with questions about their online PlaySugarHouse account should call 1-800-622-0163.

CLC thanks our player base for betting with us, and is confident customers will be very pleased with the new Fanatics Sportsbook.  We look forward to seeing you online and in retail locations.
