POWERBALL PAYDAY IN CONNECTICUTThe $1.8 billion jackpot may have been won elsewhere, but there were still plenty of Powerball winners in Connecticut.
The Saturday, September 6 Powerball drawing resulted in five tickets sold in Connecticut worth $50,000 or more and more than 120,000 tickets sold that won lower tier prizes.
A Plymouth man is celebrating a $100,000 win after his $50,000 prize instantly increased due to his purchasing the Power Play option. The man says he selected the quick pick option to choose his winning numbers and has won $30,000 playing a scratch game in the past. When he found out he won, he told his wife and then double checked the numbers on the CT Lottery website. “I hope to be back to claim another win!” he said as he left with his winnings. The ticket was purchased at Main Street Deli & Grocery on Main St. in Terryville.
A Wallingford man is celebrating his first-ever CT Lottery win to the tune of $50,000 playing Powerball. The man says he decided to take a chance after catching Powerball fever and dreaming of the $1.8 billion dollar jackpot. He plans to invest the winnings. The ticket was purchased at the Henny Penny on 77 N Turnpike Rd in Wallingford.
A Redding woman says she’s still in disbelief after she used the CT Lottery app to check her winning $50,000 Powerball ticket. She says when she showed her family the win screen on the app, they didn’t believe her and thought she was using AI to play a practical joke. The woman says she’s a regular player of the CT Lottery and will use her winnings to pay off bills. The ticket was purchased at the Putnam Park Sunoco on Putnam Park Rd. in Bethel.
DOUBLE CHECK YOUR TICKETS: More than 120,000 winning tickets were sold in Connecticut for last Saturday’s drawing so double check your ticket! You can also scan your ticket quickly and easily using the official CT Lottery mobile app.
