Lucky-4-Life Brings Home a Lifetime of Prize Money
Sometimes, you just know when you’ve got a winner. For Michael Morant of North Haven, that moment happened when he once bought a CT Lottery “Lucky-4-Life” drawing game ticket that had the numbers of 07 – 17 – 24 – 28 and 08 printed on it, and thought the “Quick Pick” numbers had a good ring to them. And though that ticket wasn’t a winning one, whenever Morant bought tickets for the game, he used those numbers.
His affinity for those numbers turned into a lucky payoff on Memorial Day, when Morant discovered his numbers had just won him the game’s amazing top prize of $2,000 EVERY week for life. Yes, FOR LIFE. As Connecticut’s newest lottery millionaire, Morant is guaranteed to receive prize money each week for the rest of his life from the CT Lottery for his win.
The May 31, 2010 Lucky-4-Life winning numbers were 07 - 17 - 24 - 28 and the Lucky Ball was 08. In addition to Morant’s prize, there were a total of 7,579 other winning tickets sold for the game on that date, with prizes ranging from $4 up to $500 in value. Morant is the fifth Lucky-4-Life top prize winner since the game began in 2009.
Morant told Lottery officials he discovered his win after returning home from a job site he’d been at during the day. He logged onto the CT Lottery’s website and checked his tickets for the drawing that had been held earlier that night.
“I saw the winning numbers…they were just waiting on me,” Morant told Lottery officials with a laugh. While still adjusting to the idea of his unexpected windfall, Morant didn’t expect that his life would change all that much. “I still plan to go back to school, and continue to work. Everything will stay the same, but it will be a lot easier.”
Morant’s winning purchase was made at Milford Sunoco on Old Gate Lane in Milford. That retailer will get a $20,000 Selling Bonus from the CT Lottery.
