Powerball prize won on two separate tickets for the August 3, 2011 drawing.
The winning tickets, purchased by their mother, contained the first 5 numbers drawn in the August 3rd Powerball game, 13 - 19 - 21 - 28 - 49, but missed the Powerball number of 11 that was drawn.
There were a total of 22,939 winning tickets sold statewide for the August 3, 2011 drawing whose values ranged from $3 to $200,000 each. Overall odds of winning a Powerball prize are 1 in 35.1. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot prize are 1 in 195,249,054.
The two sisters, accompanied by their parents, arrived at CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill to receive their checks for $136,600 (prize value after taxes).
The winning Powerball tickets were purchased at West Farm Mini Mart, located at 625 Hartford Road in New Britain. West Farm Mini Mart will receive a $4,000 bonus check from the CT Lottery for selling the tickets.
