Home Health Aide Gets the “Royal” Treatment, Wins $25,000Germaine Cole of East Hartford was overcome with emotion upon learning she was a $25,000 winner in the instant game “Royal Riches,” that she lost “all control of her senses.” “I’m used to winning $200, maybe $400, but when I scratched the ticket and saw how much I won, I literally dropped straight to the floor,” Cole said chuckling.
When Cole arrived with her husband, Kenneth, at Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill to claim her prize check for $17,076 (value after taxes); she was still giddy with excitement. “My husband is the one who bought me the ticket,” said Cole, who has been employed as a home health aide for the last 32 years. “This is a great retirement present! I’m retiring this May; this money is going right into the bank!” Cole said.
For selling Cole her $25,000 prize winning ticket, Krauszer's, located at 468 Main Street in East Hartford, will receive a $250 bonus check from the CT Lottery.
