Easton Man Accidentally Wins $30,000 Top Prize from Instant Ticket Vending MachineRather than waiting in the customer service line at the Super Stop & Shop in Fairfield, Bob Sabo of Easton decided to do something he had never done before—buy his lottery tickets from a nearby instant ticket vending machine. It was a spur of the moment choice that paid Sabo off handsomely, with a $30,000 top prize winning ticket!
“I bought the [winning] ticket by accident. I meant to buy two $20 tickets, but I didn’t have my glasses on,” Sabo told lottery officials with a laugh. “Instead, I bought a ‘30X Cash’ ticket for $30 by mistake, which left me with $10 to buy another ticket. When I got home and scratched the 30X ticket, I couldn’t believe it—we won $30,000. Winning the way we did was a very freaky thing!”
Super Stop & Shop #653, located at 760 Villa Avenue in Fairfield, will receive a $300 check from the CT Lottery for selling Sabo his $30,000 top prize winning ticket.
The winning names, stories and photos on this website are just a small number of the thousands who claim prizes. The fact is, people win every day with the CT Lottery! Below is a list of recently claimed prizes of $10,000 or more. Please Note: When a winning scratch ticket is validated through a Lottery Retailer's terminal, the remaining number of unclaimed prizes for that prize level is automatically updated reflecting one less prize. Until the individual or group presents their winning ticket for claim at CT Lottery Headquarters, the identity of a winner is unknown.
