As Luck Would Have it, Trumbull Retiree Wins $10,000 Prize“I never win anything, but things are changing,” an affable Fred Hauck of Trumbull told CT Lottery officials after winning $10,000 playing the “Lucky-4-Life” draw game on September 15, 2011. “I buy one, maybe two ‘Quick Picks’ a week. I’m retired; I figure, ‘Why not?’”
The winning Lucky-4-Life numbers for September 15 were 4 - 15 - 30 - 34. Hauck matched those four numbers, but not the Lucky Ball number, which was 17. A total of 7,349 winning Lucky-4-Life tickets were sold on that date, including a second $10,000 match.
Hauck discovered his $10,000 win while checking his numbers on the CT Lottery website. He accepted a prize check at Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill for $6,830 (value after taxes). “I’ve been lucky for life in other ways. I’m healthy; I have my wife, Claudette, two sons, and three grandsons. I have a lot to be thankful for.”
Hauck’s winning Lucky-4-Life ticket was purchased at the Citgo Trumbull Car Care at 648 White Plains Road in Trumbull.
